Under the Auspices and presence of the president of the council of ministers H.E. Mr. Najib Mikati, the Union of Arab Banks and World Union of Arab Bankers organized “The Annual Arab Banking Conference Under the Name: Economic Stability at a Time of Uncertainty.
In his opening speech, Dr. Joseph Torbey said that the conference takes place under local and regional circumstances that are extremely delicate and dangerous. He added that Arab banks are at the heart of all major problems namely economic slowdown, unemployment, instability and corruption and that the success of Arab banks in performing their duties requires drawing strategies that shall flexibly deal with the course of events that are emerging on local, regional and international levels.
